Great & Little Tey Village Weekend
25th /26th /27th June 2010Fun for all the family, starting with a pub quiz in The Chequers on Friday at 7.30pm. On Saturday there is a family picnic in the Church grounds at 12.30 and the Village Fair opens at 2.00pm on the Old Playing Field, with a photographic competition, displays, stalls, bell ringing demonstrations, raffle, bouncy castle, tea & cakes tent, tug of war and children’s races. Sunday begins with a fun run round Great Tey at 8.30am, followed by breakfast and a football match at 11.00am. Proceeds to the Great Tey Jubilee Fund.
Village Week End Pub Quiz Night,
The Chequers Friday June 25th 2010 @ 7.30
Once again we will be kicking off our 2010 Village Week-End with our popular Pub Quiz Night at the Chequers, Gt Tey with winning team prizes and wooden spoons for the not so able…We will also be holding a raffle with all monies raised going to the Village Fund.
The Chequers, will as usual be laying on a special evening menu of both finger food and its usual wide range of freshly prepared dishes ordered from the table or bar.
Please do come along and support both the Chequers and the village in what has proved to be an enjoyable and successful night for all ages. Space is limited to around 90 on a first come first served basis so please organise your tables and teams of 6 or under. The cost is £4 per person payable preferably in advance to ensure numbers are accurate and we do not need to turn people away.
Donated raffle prizes most welcome either on the night or in advance ……

The photo competition at the last village fete seemed to be very popular so it was felt that it would be fun to repeat it again at this years fete.
This of course means I will need your photos and hope to get as many as last time. They were fantastic and provided a lot of interest so please go out round and about Great Tey, and photograph anything of interest. The photos can be taken of anything and everything, people, places, animals, weather conditions, buildings, gardens, flowers, pets, babies, you name it …if it is in Great Tey, photograph it!
There are two categories: Group 1 – 12years and over and Group 2 all children under 12. A prize for the winner of each group will be awarded as soon as the winner has been chosen. As before, the judges will be you. You will be able to have one vote for the first three photos of your choice in each age group. The winners will be the ones with the most votes at the end of the fete on Saturday June 26th.!
The rules:
All photos must be 6×4 in size but can be black and white or coloured.
All photos must be copies as they will be fixed to the boards with double sided sticky tape and we cannot guarantee against accidental damage, although, as before, we will take great care of your masterpieces and will endeavour to return them to you.
You may enter as many photos as you wish.
All entries must reach me by May 31st in order that they can be sorted and mounted
Please ensure that your name, address and phone number is submitted with your photo and give them to me, (Irene Holliday) at The Hollies, Chappel Road. Great Tey.
